The challenge
A music production studio sold its beats via DMs and bank transfers. It needed its own store, without platform fees, with different licences for each use: a demo is not the same as a commercial release.
Anonymised case. The demo uses a made-up catalogue and plays no real audio.
What I built
- Catalogue with player, filterable by genre, BPM and key.
- Tiered licences (basic, premium with stems, exclusive), each with its own price and terms.
- Cart and Stripe payments, with automatic file delivery after payment.
- User accounts with purchase and download history.
Why custom instead of a platform
Beat platforms take a cut and own the customer relationship. With its own store the studio owns its data, its brand and its Google rankings.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to take payments with Stripe?
Yes. Stripe handles card data; the store never stores it.
Can it sell other digital products?
Yes. The same base works for courses, templates, photos or any licensed download.
