Build Alex’s city

Lay roads, paint residential, commercial and industrial zones and let the city grow on its own. My real projects are the upgrades that make it take off.

How to play

  1. Lay roads from the motorway on the left edge. Each tile costs €10 and has upkeep.
  2. Paint zones within 3 tiles of a road: residential, commercial and industrial. Buildings grow on their own when there’s demand.
  3. Build power plants: without power, buildings don’t work. Watch out for industrial pollution.
  4. As population grows you reach milestones that unlock my real projects: Academy, AIA Connect tower, Industry 4.0 park, AlperMind campus, SEO tower…
  5. Enable consulting policies and tune taxes. Goal: 10,000 residents; then, free play. Your game saves automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Is the game free?

Yes, and no sign-up. It asks for no email, installs nothing and has no in-game purchases: you play it in the browser and that is it.

Is my city saved?

Yes, but in your own browser, not on a server. You can close it and pick up where you left off on the same device; if you clear your browser data or switch computers, the city does not travel with you.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes: drag the map with one finger, pinch with two to zoom. It plays better on a big screen, because the terrain is 128×128 tiles and a phone only shows a small part at a time.

What is the game about?

It is an isometric city builder: you zone residential, commercial and industrial areas and have to balance power, traffic, demand and cash. The special buildings are real projects from my portfolio and the policies are services I actually offer. The goal is to reach Metropolis.

Is the Metropolis coupon real?

Yes: 10% off a project. When you reach Metropolis a form appears to claim it, and it reaches me like any other enquiry.
